Last month the Pad Group participated in the ASRA 2014 conference, which was held on the premises of the University of York. It is Europe's largest annual business event in the area of student accommodation and related services. Delegates from all over the world and various business sectors convened from April 6th to April 9th to present and discuss the latest products, services, and developments in the market for student accommodation. The programme included lectures, presentations, and presentations that provided expert insights in the current state of the student accommodation sector in the UK and beyond.

The Pad Group was present with two stands, one for each of our new products

Attendees had the chance to meet our team in person and to ask questions about our products and services in the area of student accommodation management. They also had the chance to participate in two differen prize competitions and to win a Kindle tablet. We had a fantastic response: Over 119 attendeees entered the Safety Shaun competition and 85 visitors entered the Lettingspad "walking contest", with the winner having covered over 30 km!

The event was highly informative but also provided the chance to have a great timer with our partners from the student accommodation sector. Lloyd, CEO of the Pad Group: "It was really nice for the rest of the team to put faces to names of our customers and to share a drink and a story or two both at the exhibition centre and on the social events on an evening". His colleague Trish, Operational Administrator at the Pad Group, concurs: "I thoroughly enjoyed being able to take part in the ASRA conference. It was great to finally put a face to all the names I have come to know over the last 5 1/2 years working with Studentpad".

The perfect combination of social experience and information makes the ASRA event so unique and important for the sector. Talking face-to-face with customers, partners, and experts not only helps to build and maintain professional networks; learning what clients need for their daily work also allows a company like the Pad Group to constantly advance its products and services.

"The people we met at our booths were friendly, interesting to talk and informative. We really enjoyed meeting new people and building relationships with current customers. It was fantastic to attend the railway museum in particular and the evening meal with dinner and music. It was magical and very atmospheric and the company during the dinner was lovely" explains Laura, who is repsonsible for marketing and brand communication.

In sum, this was a highly successful conference for the Pad Group and engaging with both current customers and new contacts throughout the conference was fantastic. The level of relevance and quality of information provided at ASRA demonstrated that the event is at the forefront of the modern student housing market and provides attendees with the tools to tackle student housing issues in the year ahead. No wonder the Pad Group is already preparing for the next ASRA conference in 2015. "We'll look forward to next year and catching up with everyone on a face-to-face level at Celtic Manor", says Lloyd.
