Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening students from whatever part of the world you’re reading this article from. Today we’re going to try and tackle a somehow sensible area of the almost graduated student life. After coming out of University, you would like to work in the field that you graduated in, mostly because you’ve invested time (at the very minimum three years) and loads of money (9 grand a year isn’t that small of a loan) into developing your future career. So how on Earth do you achieve what you want in life without supplicating? Here is a small list with advice that we think might help you choose the right track in life and allow yourself to do more of what you love and less of what others would love you to do.
· ‘This is your life and it’s ending one minute at a time.’
Tyler Durden’s advice from one of the best badass movies of all times is invaluable. Just some food for thought for you: What is the point of life if you don’t do what you are truly interested in? From a cynical point of view one can argue that in life you rarely choose what you truly want to do and that some people don’t even have a choice. But from an optimistic perspective try this: Do what you love and then help others achieve the exact same thing. If we do what we love and we help each other, the world is going to become a better place.
If you want a lesson on how to live life at its fullest, we highly recommend you watch Fight Club.
· ‘The only way to do great work is to love what you do.’
Nobody can argue with one of the most epic figures in tech and world changing ideas! His quote is quite self-explanatory and it will surely put a different view on life itself.
Also, take a look at this 46 seconds video of Steve Jobs’ Vision of The World! It’s so simple and straight-forward that it will change your worldview forever.
· ‘If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.’
It’s so true that everybody who experienced the challenging task of working on their dream will agree with these wise words. We know that every business owner or freelancer probably had worked harder to achieve their goals than most can imagine; it is rarely easy and takes a lot of time. However, it surely will give you way more self-confidence and appreciation for life and make you feel as if you’re not spending any time working at all.
· ‘If you don’t build your dream someone will hire you to help build theirs’
And even though we’re going to end on a low note, you need to start thinking about the fact that this is going to happen one way or another if you don’t decide to START NOW with your own project! We know it’s going to be hard, we know it’s going to be stressful and also that it’s going to be a long and winding road, but if you truly believe in yourself and your dream, then we trust you’ll be able to pull it off. Hopefully this advice will motivate you to take your ambition to new heights and will give you the necessary motivation to just go for it. Good luck!
